(note: links re dry eye are below)
With Fuchs the inner layers become swollen with fluid that our dying
Endothelial cells can't pump out quickly enough. This is how I understand Fuchs Endothelia Corneal Dystrophy. If the swelling gets too bad, then blisters will eventually from from this excess fluid and push their way to the top surface Epithelial layer and burst. I'e experienced this with my right eye and had the transplant to stop the blisters. The Muro helps flush out this excess water from the inner layer of the cornea and helps reduce the swelling but can't stop the process the fluid will continue to build relentlessly as the cells fail and die. Dry eyes are suffering from problems on the surface layer of the eye, the Epithelial layer and drops are used to help lubricate this layer. I've heard of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. I suppose the excess fluid caused by dying cells is the bad fluid we want to remove. The drops used to lubrciate dry eye conditions are the good fluid to want to lubricate our dry eyes.
